The sixth annual Cosmos Copa continued tonight at Randall’s Island Park with matches between NYC Holland and NYC Togo of Group F, and NYC Scotland and NYC Turkey of Group A.

NYC Holland entered their first game of qualifying tonight with the hopes of earning three points. As a team that dominated in prequalifying matches, president Iwan Vandervinne was confident that his side would be able to emerge from the qualifying rounds.

NYC Togo had different plans for the Holland, as the African side defeated Holland 1-0 this evening at Randall’s Island Park. Scoreless at halftime, NYC Togo was able to find the back of the net in the second half and defend until the final whistle was blown.

Just two minutes later, NYC Scotland struck again when Grant Kerr had a “cracker” from the eighteen-yard box off a corner kick. Late goals by Mike Fulton and Shaun Allen secured the victory for NYC Scotland and propelled the side to the top of Group A.
